I THIRST

"I thirst" were one of the last words of christ on the cross. It happens at the height of all troubles, having been chastized, bruized, mocked and bled and soffocating on the cross. C hrist felt a sudden urge of water, simple. Water tends to have a calming effect at the most tribulous of times.

There comes a time in every persons life when all hell as broken lose and the most urgent need for a person is not vengeance, payback or anyother thing but just rest, a spring of water from deep within our soul to give us back that fighting spirit. This is a time of thirst. This would be the water, a refreshment of the soul. Water has that ability to make the tiredness of all the cells of the body ease.

The thirst for water exists in the spiritual realm too. When it is a season of war and all that comes at you seems to weigh further on your spirit, when you even wake up more tired than you slept, you need water. Spiritual water only can quench such a thirst.

Spiritual quenching of thirst is done spiritually - by what Christ refered to as "living waters". The waters have to have life to make any impact on a spiritual level. With Christ dwelling inside man, the spirit becomes a fountain. This fountain is not permanent. Not in this age. Times when this fountain becomes dry are times of thirsting, one that can only be quenched by Christ Himself.
